About Hamilton & Merchant

Hamilton & Merchant was established in 2015 as a loan brokerage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we watched too many of our clients get crushed by predatory lending at the worst possible moment. That experience changed what we do.

Since 2020, we have been exclusively focused on business debt relief — listening to distressed merchants, assessing their full financial situation, and connecting them with the right specialist. Not the specialist that pays us the most. The one who actually fits the problem.

What we believe

We believe the debt relief industry has a conflict-of-interest problem. A bankruptcy attorney earns on bankruptcy. A settlement firm earns on settlement. A lender earns on refinancing. When the person advising you has a financial stake in which product you pick, the advice tends to favor the product.

That is the gap Hamilton & Merchant exists to fill. We sit between the distressed merchant and the solution — independent, honest, and accountable.

What we do

• Advise. We lay out the real options and tell you which we think fit and which do not.

• Stay involved. We remain in the loop as the specialist works with you, so the client is never alone in the room with the vendor.

What we are not

We are not attorneys. We are not a law firm. We are not a lender, a settlement shop, or a bankruptcy mill. When your situation calls for any of those, we connect you with licensed professionals in those fields. That is a feature, not a limitation.

Where we work

We are Florida-based — headquartered at 25 SE 2nd Avenue in Miami — and we work with U.S. businesses. Most client work happens by phone, text, and email. Location is rarely a barrier to the work.
